Trip to MD

This past weekend Rocky, Bella, and I traveled to MD to visit Steve's parents. I must say I thought it might be a little different without Steve being there, but from the moment I stepped through the door the two of them made me feel right at home. They both greeted me with warm smiles and big hugs! I knew I was in store for a great weekend with the two of them!

We had a traveled packed weekend to say the least!

On Friday, Sharon and I started our morning at the Thomas Scott Salon & Spa in Frederick, MD. I of course had an hour long massage and Sharon had a facial. After our relaxing Spa treatments we went to Tyson's Corner in McLean, VA to do some shopping (mainly window shopping, as the shopping in Tyson's is upscale shopping to say the least). We ate at this cool Sushi place right in the center of the mall. What was neat about it was that all of the Sushi was served on a conveyor belt and you grabbed what you wanted as it went by. It was so cool! After our "stressful" day of massages and shopping we headed back home where Dave met us with a bottle of wine and snacks. You can't go wrong with wine and snacks, it's every girl's love! We sat outside by a nice little fire, while Dave made Grouper on the grill! The dinner was great, but the company was even better!

Saturday was a day for welcoming baby Penny. Steve's friends from college, Pam & Jason are expecting their first baby on June 22nd (which happens to be Pam's Birthday, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that she comes on time). I've only been to baby showers that were expecting boys, and while they get a lot of cute stuff, nothing can come close to the frilly dresses that Pam got! Oh, it was a pink fiesta! Penny is going to be one stylish baby! I can't wait to meet her. I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of that day, but Pam looked amazing! She is going to be one hot mama!!!

Sunday was another fun filled day! We started our morning with going to church. Afterwards we headed for Washington DC. We decided to bring the little rascal, Rocky along for the trip too! We started the day off with light rain and cool temperatures, but just as we made it into DC the sun came out, and it turned out to be a great day! We decided to visit the Theodore Roosevelt Island located on the Potomac River. We took about a two mile walk around the island and then took some pictures in front the 17-foot sculpture of Theodore Roosevelt.

Afterwards, Dave & Sharon took Rocky and I to this little spot near Reagan Airport where you watch the planes come in for landing. It was so cool! The planes actually look like they might hit you! The place was filled with lots of spectators and Rocky even met some friends.

We made it home just in time for the rain and hail to hold off! We had another great meal, and then called it a night!

Thank you guys for showing me such a fun time! I can't wait to come back and see you again! You truly made me feel right at home!

Before I close though, I gotta add a picture of Bella. We can't forget about her!

Ahhhh Charleston :)

This past weekend I had a girls weekend in Charleston, SC. I got to spend some quality "girl" time with two of my best friends, Liz and Steph. We've known each other since middle school and they were both bridesmaids in my wedding. We don't get to see each other that often, but when we do we always have a blast! They are life long friends that are truly amazing! For those of you who don't know Charleston is very special to me because that is where Steve and I met. About four years ago I was in Charleston having another girls weekend with Liz and Steph. We were at a bar getting our groove on at a place called The Mad River. Steve and I like to say we met in church, because The Mad River use to be a church that was converted into a bar. Nowadays the "bar" which still has the stain glass windows and pulpit is a local Charleston hang out where people, like Steve and myself go to get their dance on. I must admit it was a little strange being in the bar where Steve and I met without him. I danced a little bit with the girls, but I certainly missed my life long dancing partner :)
You know how girls are with cameras, especially after they've had a few drinks, so we have plenty of pictures from that night. Here are just a few:

And of course we have to have some silly ones too :)

Kisses to the ones we love :)

YES I flashed the bunny ears...how old am I again???

Quotes of the weekend:

Is it Keisha or Keasha?

Buzz Lightyear was voted off.

She's a lifer.

Thanks girls for the fabulous trip! I will always remember it!

Wine Tasting in TN

This past Saturday my family and I went to a local wine tasting here in Johnson City. It was all you could drink from 6:00 to 8:00, so needless to say we were feeling pretty good by the end of it. I had some good wines, and some not so good wines, but by the end of it, they all tasted the same. I bought a few bottles and hope to drink them with Steve when he gets home. We had a great time. Here are some of the pictures.

Washing Veronica & Kate

I had to take some shots to provide proof that I actually washed Steve's car while he was gone. I usually pay someone else to do it, or go to one of those drive thru car washes, but I thought Veronica (Steve's Mustang & Baby) needed some TLC. Now, that's what I call love, honey. It was a beautiful Easter Sunday here in TN, so I not only washed Veronica, but I also washed Kate (my Honda CRV). YES, we do name all of our cars. My 1996 Toyota Camry is referred to as Old Bessie. I like to think of our cars as people. Kate is the girl next door that everyone wants to be friends with. Old Bessie has been around the block a time or two, but still gets you where you wanna go, and Veronica is a big show off that loves being in the spotlight.

So, now Veronica and Kate look pretty sharp!

Flowers From My Wonderful In-Laws

March 29th was our second anniversary! Whew the time has flown by. I had to take a couple pictures of the beautiful flowers Dave and Sharon sent. They sure did brighten my day! Thank you both!
